ISOLATION,CULTURE AND BIOLOGICAL CHARACTER STUDIES ON HUMAN FETAL PANCREATIC NES TIN POSITIVE CELLS

HUANG Hai Xia CHEN Yu Ying CANG Hun TANG Xue Ming Departmentt of Cell Biology, Slianghat Second Mehcal Unroersrty, Shanghan 200025)
Pancreatic nestin positive cells are multipotential stem cells winch may play an important role in the development of pancreas. Here we isolated nesun positrve cells from human fetal pancreases and then exam ined its biological characters in vitro The results showed that : (1) Nestin positive cells expressed high level transcript of ABCG2/BCRP1 which was the molecular determination of stem cells, and thev differed from pan-ereauc duclal epithelium cells both in morphology and in growth behavior (2) Upon confluence, these cells self assemble to form islet like cell clusters (IICCs) (3) During differentiation, nestm posrtive cells in ICCs ex pressed markers of different cell lineages which meant that they were molupotential, and they could generale insulin-producing cells after inducement.
