Experimental study of the stability of rotor-bearing system with three bearings and many mass planes

By making use of the pulse-force, the point on the rotor's plane of the system is beaten. And at the same time, the responses on different points are gathered. Also, by utilizing the method of correlated analysis the free vibration at the test point is measured. Furthermore, logarithmic decrement is used to determine the stability of the system. FFT analysis shows that the signals simulated by the pulse-force has the first model with larger amplification while other signals simulated by the free vibration far away from the beaten plane have other kinds of models. Under the unstable critical state, the damping within this system makes it tend to become steady. The stability of the rotor system with multi-free degrees is determined by the lowest model.
