Communicative language teaching its practice and enlightenment

This paper aims to find out whether CLT (communicative language teaching) proves effective in a specific context. After the application of the approach in intensive reading class, the author investigates students' responses toward it. Further analysis shows that the effect is not satisfactory enough. In the end, the author points out in addition to building good group dynamics, it's necessary for teachers to acquaint themselves with students' personality and their learning strategies. In this way, a kind of combination of methods can be adopted from which students will be benefited more.
