The static light scattering study on MEH-PPV conjugated polymer in the dilute solution

The structural morphology of MEH-PPV conjugated polymer in mixed solvents was studied by the static light scattering technique at different temperatures in this paper.The results showed that,there was the deviation from straight line appeared in the Zimm figure of MEH-PPV conjugated polymer at 25 ℃ and it revealed that a few of aggregating structures appeared in dilute solution for this temperature.The Zimm figure of MEH-PPV conjugated polymer at 50 ℃ were all straight lines and it revealed that the Toluene/Nonane mixed solvents are good solvents for MEH-PPV conjugated polymer at this temperature.In addition,the persistence length of lps of MEH-PPV polymer chain in dilute solution were 5.24 nm and 3.68 nm respectively for different volume ratios,which was calculated by the Kratky-Porod equation with the monomer molecular weight of 260 g/mol and length of 0.67 nm.And the corresponding length of Kuhn chain tying lK were 10.48 nm and 7.36 nm and the number of chain tying were 1 329 and 1 871.
