Software development on lifting capacity for big tonnage mobile crane

In terms of the calculation problem for lifting capacity of mobile crane,the lifting capacity calculation software for mobile crane is developed on the ANSYS platform based on related theory algorithms.Firstly,the structure characteristics for crane boom and the whole machine are parameterized. Secondly,the finite element parametric model of crane boom is established. The nonlinear static analysis is executed by calling ANSYS solver. Finally,the calculation results are appraised by virtue of safety evaluation system. Lifting capacity results are obtained through iterative calculation. Software interface module uses the TCL / TK language and the other modules use the APDL language. The crane load test in mobile crane is carried out. Experimental results show that there is a good agreement between calculation value and experimental value. The developed software has high computational efficiency and covers all mobile crane's operating cases.
