Effect of the phase and content of sulfur by baking of jarosite residue on percentages of powdery coal

The jarosite residue which contained gypsum was mixed uniformly with different mass fractions of powdery coal by using high speed ball mill,and then was calcined at different temperatures,to research the effect of the phase and content of sulfur by baking of jarosite on percentages of powdery coal. The result indicated that the sulfur content was on the decline with the temperature increases when the amount of coal was not more than 20% at various temperature conditions. The sample which contains 15% powdery coal had highest iron content(26. 51%) and lowest sulfur content(4. 59%) at temperature 1 000 ℃ for 2 h under the circumstances,the phase of sulfur was mainly CaSO_4 and CaS. The lowest content of sulfur could be reduce to 2. 13% when the set of cinder which contains 15% powdery coal was washed. Through the analysis of the effect of the phase and content of sulfur by baking of jarosite on percentages of powdery coal. Zinc smelting factory was provided a new way of utilization of jarosite residue.
