Study on improving water flooding by viscous suspension system

A viscous suspension system(VSS) was formed by combining some hydrolyzed polyacrylamide with pre-crosslinked gel particles. The stability of VSS,viscosity,injection,improved shunt and oil displacement was analyzed. The results show that VSS can form higher resistance coefficient and residual resistance coefficient than polymer solution. The process of VSS adjusting diversion rate is dynamic and continuous,which is different from pure polymer solution. The experimental results show that the polymer flooding can improve recovery rate by 17. 45%,and the VSS flooding can improve recovery rate by 20. 25%,and the latter is2. 8 % more than the former.
