Ultrasound diffraction CT: Experimentalstudy on reconstruction with incomplete projection data

Ultrasound diffraction computer tomography (UDCT) is an image reconstruction technique that uses scattering data to reconstruct the cross-sectional image of an insonified object. This paper reviews recent advances in UDCT image reconstruction, and briefly describes some typical methods with special focus on techniques based on incomplete projection data. An experimental study has been carried out on ill-conditioned problems with incomplete data. The results show that acceptable reconstruction is obtainable under some restrained conditions.
