Performance evaluation of split spectrum processor for ultrasonic signal enhancement

LIU Zhenqing (Institute of acoustics,Tongji University,shanghai·200092)  
Split spectrum processing technique has been proved efficient for enhancement of the flaw to grain echo ratio in ultrasonic testing,towever,the success of the method is dependent on selection of the signal processing parameters,such as the number of filters in filter bank.In this paper,the choice of the processing approach and the processing parameters is discussed and experimentally verified for ultrasonic signal obtained from austenitic steel.
