Discussion on technology application program and performance evaluation of online virtual experiment applied in architectural education

With the booming development of MOOC,many web-based virtual experiments are being built by national virtual experimental teaching demonstration centers in China.How to adapt proper technologies in virtual reality applications becomes an important issue for keeping the investment worthy.This study introduces the consideration and exploration during the last year from a center of Tongji University.A concept of"Genes map"is used to describe the features of any specific technology in the virtual reality market,which can contribute to selecting a set of"bounded"technologies suitable for Tongji's application according to its real demand and a guideline so-called "Focusing on contents rather than equipment."Finally,three built experiments are proved positively through a systematic performance evaluation.
