Research on design and simulation experiment of virtual inertia controller for doubly fed induction generator

The virtual inertia control of doubly fed induction generator is an effective way to improve the frequency response characteristics of power grid.In view of this,this paper analyzes the possibility of providing transient virtual inertial support for the power system by using variable speed wind turbines,and proposes a virtual inertia control strategy based on MPPT and proportional controllers,also the level of system inertia supporting capacity of wind turbine is qualitatively and quantitatively described.By means of power system simulation software DIgSILENT/PowerFactory,the system simulation platform is established,and it is proved that the proposed virtual inertia controller provides significance improvement for system frequency stability under the condition of system disturbance.
