Finite Element Analysis of Local Stability of Simply Supported Plates with Hexagon Holes under Axial Compression

In order to testify that the experiment has been did is proper,we apply finite element method to analyse simply supported plates with hexagon holes.In this paper,we apply experiments on base,and we apply eigenvalue buckling analysis method to carry on the local stability analysis of the web of castellated components.Through the study on local stability analysis of the plates with holes under the axial compression,the paper analyzes different opening ratios how to influence on different elastic buckling load.The result is that there are two kinds of instability modes:single-wave instability mode and multi-wave instability mode.The elastic buckling load of the two kinds is similar,so we can analyze the plate with one hole instead of the plates with multiple holes.The elastic buckling load increases when vertical opening increases and the variation is 14 percent to 26 percent.The elastic buckling load reduces when horizontal opening increases and the variation is 8 percent to 21 percent.The simulative results agree with experimental results and we can get the elastic buckling load formula of the plates which can be used to analyse and calculate the local stability of web of castellated components opened the holes as a hexagon shpe.
