Controlling Nosema Disease of Tussah by Means of Hot Water Bath

Wu Yulin;Guo Dianrong;Li Jiannan (Department of Plant Protection. Shenyang Agricultural University)
50℃ hot water treatment to nosema infected tussah eggs for 15-20 seconds in the stage of embryo development to embryo rever- sion or trachied formation can effectively kill the pathogen and decrease the incidence and does not influence the hatching rate. If the time of treatment is elongated, the hatching rate tends to decrease, when 55℃ hot water is used in treatment for 10-20 seconds in the stage of embryo reversion or trachied formation, the hatching ability is seriously lowered, hence inadoptable, although the incidence is obviously decrea- sed.
