Objective To study the chances in type Ⅳ collagen concentration in glomerular diseases before and after pulse methylprednisolone. Methods Enzyme linked inmmunosorbent assay was used to detect the changes of urinary concentration of type Ⅳ collagen in 8 patients with glomerular diseases before and after the treatment of a large dose of methylprednisolone. Results Urinary concentration of type Ⅳ collagen was significantly higher than that of control subject(P0.05).One day after a course of pulse methylprednisolone, urinary concentration of type Ⅳ collagen in patients was significantly lower than that before pulse therapy ( P 0.01). Conclusion The therapy of pulse methylprednisolone may influence the urinary concentration of type Ⅳ collagen.
