Relationship between Growth Deviation and Feeding Disorders and Its Influencing Factors among Infants and Toddlers

Objective To explore the relationship between growth deviation and feeding disorders and its influencing factors among infants and toddlers. Methods With fixed-point sampling,caregivers fill in the Chinese version of The Children Feeding Scale and the questionair were designed,and the physical developmental parameters of infants and toddlers were measured. Results The incidence rate of fee-ding disorders among 6-to-24-month-old children was 21.41%.The association between feeding disorders,the degree of feeding difficulty and growth deviation(including stunted,wasting,underweight) were related.And with the degree of feeding disorders increased,3 incidences increased.A multivariate non-conditioned Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the risk factors for children growth deviation and 13 issues related were identified significantly as follows:repeated upper respiratory tract infection,mother feeding,children′s response when fed,the regular feeding place,the regular feeding place,feeding time over 30 minutes,children allowed feeding when he wanted,different cooking methods to promote appetite,the reference you think of your child′s refusing one food,eating fish/shrimp/egg/cereal/fruit everyday. Conclusions The incidence of stunted,wasting and underweight will be reduced if feeding disorders prevented.Right diet,scientific feeding knowledge and appropriate feeding behaviors will reduce the incidence of growth deviation.
