Clinical significance of determination of the nouro-spceifie enolase in cerebrospinal fluid of the neonates with bypoxie ischemic encephalopathy

To seareh for the change of the neuro-specific enolase level and the clinical significanne in crebrospinal fluid (CSF) of the neonates with hypoxic ischemic encephalopnthy (HIE),Methods There were 47 case of neonatal hypoxic ischemic enolase encephfalopatlly (NHIE).The mild,moderate and severe NHIE were 8, 25 and 14 cases respectively. The CSF of tile neonates was drawn at the 2nd to 4th day of life.The NSE in CSF was determined by double antibod enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.The statistical treatment of determination results was carried out.Results The NSE levels in CSF of neonates with HIE in control group, mild, moderate and severe NHIE groups are 10.196±3.237,13.942±4.673,45.658±14.546 and 105.515±39. 652μg/L respectively.There is no significant difference between the control group and mild NHIE group (P0.05).There is very significant dfference between control group and moderate NHIE group (P0.01), also between; control group and severe NHIE group, and between moderate ane severe NHIE groups.Conclusion The QSE concentration in CSF is related to the degree of brain in jury in the neonates with HIE.It's gradually increasing along with becoming heavier of brain injury degree. Therefore, the QSE concentration in CSF could be regarded as a biochemical index judging brain injury degree in early stage.
