The study to determine the maximum blood supply area and shape of the flap pedicled with colateral vessels of saphe-neous nerve

ve To study the maximum blood supply area and shape of the flap and its changing process in different conditions. Methods 40 guinea - pigs were randomly divided into 3 groups. The average artery pressure was determined in group a. The super- sized colateral vessels axial island flaps of the saphenous nerves of alive body were sectioned in group B and C. In group B? the guinea- pigs were perfused with methylene blue solution in serial time at the average artery pressure. The time - dependent curve was finished according to the average of colored area in the different times. But group C was perfused at serious artery pressures in ten minutes and then the pressure - dependent durve was finished on the basis of the average colored area in different perfused pressures. Results The average artery pressure is (35 ± 1.03) cmH2O. The time - dependent curve indicated that the perfused area increased with the perfused time, but ten minutes later with little increased area. The average of colored area at the average artery pressure is (3.13 ± 1.799) cm2 in ten minutes. The length of the colored area is equal to the length of the colateral vessels in the flap. The average of the width of the colored area is (1.792± 1.12) cm. The pressure - dependent curve indicated that nothing was perfused in the flap when the perfused pressure is lower than 15cmH2O. The colored area increased on the increase of the perfused pressure when the prefused pressure is higher than 15 cmH2O. Conclusion This method is a more accurate and objective method to study the maximum perfused area and shape of the flap and their change process in different conditions, also can indicate the maximum blood supply area and shape of the flap and their change process in different conditions.
