Bioinformatics Analysis of Ferric Uptake Regulator Protein(Fur) of Mycoplasma Pneumoniae

Objective The purpose of this study was to analyze the biological characteristics of MP Fur protein(Ferric uptake regulator protein) by using bioinformatics methods.Methods The amino acid sequence of Fur protein of MP was obtained from NCBI,of which biological characteristics were investigated by bioinformatics analysis.Results The analysis result showed that the 18. 9 kDa MP Fur protein was a hydrophilic protein which was located in cytosol.However,no signal peptide was predicted in Fur protein.Further secondary structure prediction showed that the contents of α-helix,random coil and beta sheet of Fur protein were 47. 5%,36. 7% and 12. 7% respectively.Based on the aforementioned information,a three dimensional(3 D) structure of Fur protein was constructed by using Swiss-model software. Three dimensional(3 D) structure analysis of Fur protein imply that the Fur protein may possess good characteristics of immunogenicity. Conclusion This study analyzed the biological characteristics of Fur protein of MP,which is helpful to understand the function of Fur protein and also provided a theoretical support for the pathogenic study of MP.
