Objective To investigate the rate of anti-hepatitis C virus(HCV) in platelet donors in Changzhou area, and to explore the difference of the HCV-RNA positive detection rate between the single reagent detecting group and double reagent detecting group. Methods The anti-HCV antibody was measured by ELISA assay, and the content of serum HCV-RNA of the anti-HCV antibody positive platelet donors was detected by FQ-PCR assay. Results The rate of anti-HCV antibody in local platelet donors was lower than that of migrant platelet donors(χ2=23.59,P0.01) . The positive detection rate and the content of the HCV-RNA in single reagent detecting group was lower than that of the double reagent detecting group(χ2=14.09,P0.01) . Conclusion The rate of anti-HCV antibody in local platelet donors was lower than that of migrant platelet donors, and it is necessary to apply two different reagents to detect anti-HCV antibody without NAT.
