Genre-based Teaching Approaches and Teachig of Reading

Genre" and "genre analysis" have become hot topics in the first language and the scond language learning. In order to make students get familiar with the concept of genre, we should apply genre-based teaching approaches to the teaching of reading. Based on a brief account of genre analysis as an approach to discourse studies, we may well gain a deeper insight of schematic structures and linguistic styles, and we may well practice this approach so as to further improve the students'effective reading.
