An ERP Study about Facial Expression Identification on College Students in Different Senses of Power Levels

WEI Hongtao;BAI Dawen;School of Education and Public Administration,Suzhou University of Science and Technology;
Power in psychological study is regarded as a sense of power,which is generally regarded as a kind of ability to exercise influence upon others.The perception of power can be aroused by external stimuli.The present research combines selective behavioral responses and ERP technology,and adopts an assessment,which contains verbs and nouns containing the meaning of power to arouse the participants'sense of power.The identification process analyzes the EEG features of individuals in different senses of power,and explore the neural mechanism of the origin of the sense of power to realize the accuracy of the assessment of the effects of the activated sense of power.The main findings of the study are follows:a.College students process the connotations of related words rapidly and spontaneously;in the early ERP wave of EPP,the wave of nouns is greater than that of verbs;compared with the right frontal cortex,the incubation period of the left frontal cortex is even shorter;b.There exists a significant difference between the N300and N400waves evoked by the high and low power-related words,brain activity areas that are evoked by a high sense of power concentrated mainly in the left frontal lobes.
