Bandwidth Allocation Algorithm of Video Packet in ATM Networks

The ATM net work in which two nedes respectively multiplex a few video terminals is taken to illustrate thebandwidth alloration algorithm of five video sources:static time slot allocation algorithm, buffering area base dynamic timeslot alloration algorithm, self-adaptive time slot allocation algorithm, first-come-first-served time slot allocation algorithmand rate base dynamic time slot allocation algrithm。 The average cell time delay and time delay bias coefficient of the fivealgorithms are determined by computer simulation and comparison。 The self-adaptive algorithm and the buffering area basealgorithm can detect very high traffic at the multiplex point and then take compensating measures,The two algorithms,obtaining less average cell time delay,cater to video packet in ATM networks。
