Design and Analysis of Pot Bearing with X-shaped Steel Damper

By combining X-shaped steel damper with one-way sliding pot bearing,a new type of bearing,X-shaped steel damper pot bearing,was designed.This type of bearing cosumes energy by the elastic-plastic deformation of Xshaped steel damper and the friction of pot type support.The mechanical properties of the new bearing were studied by means of finite element numerical simulation and test.The results show that the outcome of numerical simulation agrees well with that of test.The hysteresis curve is full,a nd so the new bearing has good energy dissipation effect.
