The Existence Forms and Distribution of Oil-particle Size in Railway Waste Water

Chen Zehao Li Jingci Wang Ling Institute of Metal & Chemistry, China Academy of Railway Sciences (100081)
The existence forms of oil waste water in railway diesel locomotive terminal, steam locomotive terminal and rolling stock depot have been studied by gravimetric method and ultraviolet spectroscopy. The tests show that 15%-50% oil floating up to the surface of water, 40%-70% oil to sink by suspended matters in water, only 4%-30% oil retain in water. In addition, the distribution of oil-particle size in oil waste water emulsion has been estimated. The oil-particles size is usually under 30μm. At this time, the distribution and the percent by weight have been obtained.
