LIU Xin and Classics

LU Yi (College of Economy and Law,Fujian Normal University,Fuzhou 350007,China)
There is every indication that the rumour LIU Xin forged the classics is not plausible.According to the information known, such a conclusion may be drawn:Firstly,LIU Xin didn't forge classics because ancient classics had come into being before him.Secondly,LIU Xin didn't intend to forge classics although ancient classics was objectively made use of by WANG Mang to usurp the throne.Or Subjectively,LIU Xin might have intention to help WANG Mang, yet it was not associated with the believable degree of ancient classics. The paper stresses that only by many and varied investigations and studies can we make a reasonable and all-sided comment on LIU Xin,a complicated person in history.
