Making Extraordinarily Painstaking Effort to Liken Objects to State of Mind

DOU Chun-Lei (Chinese Department, Shaanxi Education Institute, Xi'an 710061, China)
LI He is an outstanding poet in the middle Tang Dynasty. His poems exposed and criticized the actual life of his time to some extent but were confined in depth and range. There are too many things for our eyes to take in in his new original and romantic artistic style, vivid and colourful languages, wonderful conception, grotesque and gandy writing skill. This paper analyzes the moral of his poems by taking as an example his `poems on horses'.
