Motive and Outcome of the Post V-J Lend-Lease Aid

WANG De-chun(Hanshan Teachers College,Chaozhou 521041,China)
The main motive of American post V-J Lend Lease aid to China was to support the National Government in reconstructing the military balance in the northern China, and forcing both parties to resolve their internal political disputes by negotiations and setting up a united and democratic government.Unexpectedly, the National Government thought its arms so strong that it could be easy to defeat the Communist-led armed forces and took a chance on the Civil War rashly. The accumulated power that American military aid produced at last was out of control and the predetermined aims of Truman's China policy was thoroughly destroyed, leading to Truman's China policy failed irretrievably.
