Rebellion and Spiritual Breakthrough of the Beat Generation——Interpretation of Han Shan in The Dharma Bums

In the mid-20th Century,Jack Kerouac,one of the most important representatives of the Beat Generation in America,published his influential novel The Dharma Bums,which creatively made the Chinese Tang poet Han Shan as an idol of the rebellious youths.By giving a rebirth to Han Shan in the Western world,the Beat Generation achieved a remarkable breakthrough in their spiritual pursuit,which also revealed one of the principles of the communication of civilization,that is,the coexistence of integration and individuality.
