Human Nature in Traditional Chinese Calligraphy

LU Yu-xian(Shaanxi Provincial Research Institute of Culture and History,Xi'an 710004,China)
Faced with the messiness in the calligraphic circle, arising from the calligraphy fever,in order to avoid this disorder,it is necessary to for the calligraphy lovers to define and regulate the calligraphers and their works through the human nature in traditional Chinese calligraphy.By synthesizing the great deeds recorded in the calligraphic history and discerning the modern calligraphers, only those with the lofty personality charm, profound cultural appreciation and skillful painting techniques can be acknowledged as outstanding calligraphers.Calligraphy is its hair, wording is its skin, language is its blood and flesh, thought is its skeleton, context is its soul, body without soul is only a walking skeleton.A calligraphic work without deep humanistic basis cannot be recorded in the calligraphic history.
