Influence of Withdrawing Rates on Directional Solidification Structure of Superalloy Blades

Directional solidification apparatus with liquid metal Sn as cooling medium was employed to study the influence of varied withdrawing rates on directional solidification structure of blade.The results indicated that the withdrawing rate played a significant role in directional crystallization structure of blade.The blades formed well with withdrawing rates at 6mm/min.In this case the columnar grains with regular array along longitudinal direction are straight, and the grain size is uniform.With the increase of withdrawign rate, fine microstructure and reduced dendritic spacing were obtained.
