Analysis of the Crystallization Phenomenon of Energy Transfer Optical Fiber Preform in Furnace

To prepare transmitting energy fibers,fluorine-doped silica glass fiber preform needs to melt in a 1,900 ~2,200 ℃ furnace,and argon,an inert gas,needs to be drummed into the furnace to ensure an even heating of the preform and prevent the device from oxidation.Sometimes,due to a large opening of upper or lower furnace mouth or the turbulence of argon gas,a layer of white substance will form on the surface of the quartz prefabricated rod.The so-called Crystallization Phenomenon will affect parameters of the optic fiber.This paper analyzes causes of the phenomenon to provide some reference to the improvement of the following wire drawing process.
