Effect of Heat-treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Al-W Alloy

The effect of heat treatment on the microstructure,hardness and wear resistance of Al-W alloy with W content of 7% was investigated. The results showed that the microstructure,hardness,and wear resistance of the alloy are affected by the heat-treatment processes largely.With the increasing of solid solution temperature,the hardness and wear resistance of the alloy increased. With the increasing of aging temperature and time,the hardness and wear resistance of the alloy increased also. In this experiment,the best heat-treat processes of the alloy is solution treatment at 530 ℃ for 80 min and aging treatment at 200 ℃ for 10 h.
