Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator(D-STATCOM)Based on Improved i_p-i_q Detection and Design of Its Controller

The detection of command current is the important part for static synchronous compensator(D-STATCOM)in distribution network.However,under the situation of imbalance of three-phase voltage and grid voltage fluctuation of the fundamental frequency,the traditional i_p-i_q detection methods cannot detect the nonlinear load current quickly and accurately,leading to D-STATCOM reactive current output command value error and instability of power system. To solve this problem,the paper proposes an improved method based on traditional i_p-i_q detection method and uses ADRC to control it,finally builds a 10 kV distribution network model in Matlab/Simulink for simulation.Verification shows that this detection method can detect and compensate accurately harmonic and reactive components of the system,ADRC is superior to conventional proportional-integral-derivative controller,it has good tracking performance and immunity characteristics. This paper verifies the feasibility of i_p-i_q detection method and its controller.
