Construction of molecular logic gate based on the anion-triggered optical outputs of colorimetric sensor containing isatin

In order to expand the anion recognition system of molecular logic device,a new anion receptor Host was designed based on proton transfer. In the Host,isatin was used as signal reporter,which was seldom used to design the anion receptor. The changes of UV-Vis spectra of the Host were tested under the influence of F~-,Cl~-,Br~-,I~-,HSO_4~-,H_2PO_4~-,NO_3~-and AcO~-. The results showed that the Host had the largest adsorption at 412 nm. After the addition of F-,AcO-and H_2PO_4~-,its largest adsorption occurred at 448 nm,while other anions(Cl~-,Br~-,I~-,H_2PO_4~-,NO_3~-)can not induce this change. These results indicated that the Host can specially recognize F-,AcO-and H_2PO_4~-. On the basis of absorption response of the Host to various anions associated with Boolean logical rule,F-,AcO-,H_2 O_4~- and HSO_4~- were adopted as input signals and the absorption of the Host at 412 nm and 448 nm were adopted as output signals,NOR,OR and the complementary IMP/INH molecular logic gate were designed successfully.
