Middle and Long Distance Running

Technique Overview Middle and long distance races on the track begin from a standing start. Normally one foot is placed immediately behind the starting line and the other is slightly further back. Just before the gun, the weight of the body is shifted forwards over the front leg and the knee is bent.As the race begins, runners will try to obtain a good position and this often leads to collisions and even injures.
