Early intervention of young children with auditory neuropathy
Objective To study the effect of early equipping hearing aid and early speech training to the children with auditory neuropathy. Method Choosing and equipping hearing aid and giving the speech training to 8 children who have auditory nerve disease. The follow up lasted from I-6 years. Now one of them is a third grade student of normal elementary school. Two of them had the similar ability of speech to the children of same age. Two made big progress of speech. One made little progress.Conclusion: Early identification, early equipping hearing aid and early speech training are the only way to made the children who have auditory nerve disease capable to hear and speak. But different child has different effect. The mechanism of it needs further study.
