APPLICATION OF ANTI-SLOUGHING TECHNIQUE BY "THREE LOW INDEXES" WATER-BASE DRILLING FLUID IN ULTRADEEP WELL OF SICHUAN BASIN

Although gas drilling increases ROP sharply in the process of drilling in Sichuan and Chongqing area and has been widely applied in the field of drilling,there appears widely serious destabilizing effect of borehole wall when bullheading conventional water-base drilling fluid after gas drilling,which results in frequent backreaming happened in long time and length.So,from the analysis on the reason of water sensitivity when bullheading water-base drilling fluid after gas drilling,it is put forward that the solution to destabilizing effect of borehole wall is to combine 3 techniques,reverse wetting anti-sloughing technique,low permeability anti-sloughing technique and low activity anti-sloughing technique,together into a set of drilling fluid system to form anti-sloughing technique by water-base drilling with low reverse wetting angle,low permeability and low activity.At the same time,the quantitative evaluation is taken on the effect of the formula of this water-base drilling fluid got in the laboratory.It is shown according to the field experiment and research that this water-base drilling fluid can solve destabilizing effect,enable argillutite formation to have obvious wetting reverse and deactivation in 30 min,seal fractures thoroughly in 180 min and form dense hydrophobic layer over the surface of argillutite.It has obvious effect on the either long-term or short-term sloughing and can be applied widely in middle Sichuan Basin.
