Technical measures for high-efficient development of the Hutubi Gas Field

High efficient development of a gas field depends on a better understanding of its geological features,a full plan of its development project,and advanced management of development process and regulation.A case history of the Hutubi Gas Field provides reference for the high efficient development of such typical sandstone gas fields with a series of technical measures specifically summarized.Based on a scientific pre-assessment on the Hutubi Gas Field,an integrated evaluation system with assistance of multiple technologies was first developed including a reservoir's geological features and engineering,drilling and production engineering,and ground techniques.Then the whole process tracking evaluation work was also conducted as follows: the connectivity of gas layers was verified by interference well test;the geological gas reserves were approved by pressure-drop,volumetric and dynamic fitting methods;a reasonable gas recovery rate was determined by advanced simulation methods;the single well production was optimized by a systematic well test.Moreover,by application and research of balanced pressure section and water production regulation,this field had achieved a 10-year high performance recovery effect since 1998.From the post-evaluation of this field's development,we found that this field has achieved not only a high production by sparse wells,but an obvious economic profit,particularly,by the end of 2008,a production value of 3.663 billion Yuan(RMB) had been obtained in this field within a short investment payback period.
