Techniques and technology of putting horizontal open holes into production in the Puguang Gas Field with high H_2S contents

The open hole completion technology is commonly used in the Puguang sour gas field.However,there exist such problems as frequent blowouts and lost circulations in carbonate formations,a high risk in well control,casing window easily formed during the cement plug drilling,frequent sticking occurrence due to the complicated structure of the integrated acidizing-production completion string.In view of this,a wiper trip was simulated at the Dawan gas reservoir of this field,then the completion string was optimized;and in combination with tieback during the second trip and the use of optimum drilling/completion fluids and internal blowout tools,the above problems were solved.Additionally,more good results were achieved by multiple packers to isolate the gas zone,sliding sleeves for opening/closing to realize stage stimulation,and the acid to be uniformly distributed.To summarize,this paper presents the following conclusions.(1) It is feasible and reliable to perform technologies of open hole completion,and cement plug drilling,and wiper trip simulation in this study zone,which provides reference for highly efficient development of such sour gas fields.(2) The stable,smooth and lubricated wellbore is not only the precondition of horizontal open hole completion,but an important measure for cost reduction and safe development of a sour gas field.(3) As for the great complexity of the open hole completion technology used in sour gas wells,high-quality completion fluids should be used to realize safe well control during the whole process,on different aspects and different levels.(4) Blowouts or circulation losses easily occur during the development of carbonate reservoirs so that killing with drilling and completion fluids will have to be used during the whole completion process.Therefore,further studies on how to choose the proper acidizing method and flowback pattern are needed to relieve the secondary contamination to the reservoirs.
