Well completion technologies at the Dawan Block in the Puguang Gas Field

The gas recovery and exploitation in the Dawan operating block is quite similar to that in the major zones in the Puguang Gas Field,but is also meeting other challenges due to the stronger heterogeneity of gas pay zones there with specific characteristics.In view of this,two totally different methods of open-hole completion and casing completion are adopted to optimize different structures of tubing strings with acid fracturing integrated with gas production.Moreover,three perforating techniques are added including the compensation-mode explosion,high-accuracy delay blasting,and perforation with fine-grained debris.Such wellbore processing techniques are formed as cement plug drilling and wiper tripping under open-hole condition and acid leaching in a cased well.The staged-acid fracturing treatment is chosen in a long-lateral horizontal well for the stimulation of reservoirs with strong heterogeneity,the petrophysical properties of which can also be effectively improved.In addition,the well control management system is completed for the operation of high-sulfur gas wells.The above mentioned technologies have been successfully applied in 8 wells in this block,and for the first time in China,the staged-fracturing stimulation treatment has been accomplished for high-sulfur gas horizontal wells,providing robust technical support for Dawan gas wells to be smoothly put into production.
