A RESEARCH ON SEISMIC RECOGNITION TECHNIQUES OF THE SHALLOW GAS RESERVOIRS IN YINGGEHAI BASIN

Petrophysical parameters are the basis of analyzing seismic reflection characteristics.Through picking up the logging information of the clean mudstones,clean sandstones and gas reservoirs in 11 wells in Yinggehai Basin,the statistical analysis and model test are carried out,and in combination with the analysis of the drilling and seismic data,it is shown that in this region,the seismic compressional wave velocity of the gas bearing sandstones at the depth of below 2 500 m is less than 70% that of the surrounding rocks (mudstones).The top of such gas bearing sandstone shows a strong amplitude anomaly (bright spot) on seismic cross section,the character of the third AVO anomaly which amplitude is strengthened with the increase of the offset on CDP gather,and the property of a relative low impedance is reflected on relative impedance section.Before exploratory well drilling,the bright spot,AVO and trace integration are the effective techniques for recognizing such gas bearing sandstones in Yinggehai Basin.By taking the three techniques mentioned above as the core,a comprehensive gas reservoir prediction procedure was set up and widely used for the shallow gas exploration in Yinggehai Basin,and a fot of medium and small sized gas fields as the LD20—1,LD22—1 and LD8—1 gas fields were successively found,the significant social effect and economic benefits being achieved.
