Phytoremediation is an effective method to remedy pesticide-contaminated soils.Plants clean up the pesticide-contaminated soils mainly through three ways:absorption and metabolism,rhizospheric-enzyme-stimulated degradation and rhizospheric microbial degradation. This paper discussed in brief the signification and the advantages of phytoremediation, reviewed the mechanisms of phytoremediation of pesticide-contaminated soils, expatiated the research achievements and applications of utilizing plants to remedy pesticide-contaminated soils, and looked into the field that needed to study further in the future.
