Developing Gas Injection according to local conditions in China to Improve Oil Recovery Technology

Improving oil recovery is one consistent theme in oilfield development. At present,steam flooding is mainly used for improving oil recovery all over the world. Gas injection flooding has great potential and development prospect and chemical floodingis little used. There are manytypes ofoilfields in China and their geological conditions are very complex,all kinds of technologies for improving oil recovery shall be developed according to local conditions except for water flooding and chemical flooding. Gas (CO 2 ,hydrocarbon gas,N 2 ,flue gas,air,etc.)injection flooding has been explored and developed in all large oil and gas areas. However,scale effect has not been formed due to not advanced injection equipment,complex continental strata and not changed ideas. While foreign advanced technologies are absorbed and foreign investments are introduced,it is imperative that domestic high pressure injection equipment is developed rapidly. It is believed that injection technology will certainly become more and more advanced and mature as soon as constant practice and summaryare done and continuous improvement is conducted.
