On Students' Learning Interest

This paper discusses students' interests from the perspectives of the concept and classification ofinterests and the factors affecting interests. Students' learning interest refers to the psychological state of students' emotion and cognition in the process of participation in activities. Students' learning interests can be divided intotwo categories: situational interest and individual interest, which include four stages of development, such as stimu-lated situational interest sustained situational interest, initial individual interest and steady individual interest.The four stages of development have their continuity, and the interruption of any stage will affect the formation ofindividual interests. All of the following, teacher, the meaning value of content knowledge and students' individualcharacteristics, will affect the formation and development of students' learning interest. On the basis of under-standing the classification and development stages of students' learning interest, school administrators and teachers should create relevant situations to stimulate students' situational interests and promote the formation of their individual interests.
