The Intensity and Temporal Characteristics of BATSE Gamma ray Bursts and Solar Hard X-ray Bursts

We have analyzed data of more than 4000 solar hard X ray bursts and 1000 gamma ray bursts detected by CGRO/BATSE during 1991-1995 to investigate their intensity distribution and their temporal characteristics.We have found the similarity between intensity distributions of BATSE gamma ray bursts and solar hard X ray bursts. This might indicate these two hard X ray burst phenomena have similarity in mechanism. This gives a negative support to the cosmological model of gamma ray bursts. The intensity and duration of solar flares have positive correlation, which is different from gamma ray bursts, and the average intensity and duration of solar flares are correlated with the solar activities.
