Computer Simulation of Hot Pressing Sintering of Mullite Materials

On the basis of practical measurement and analysis of hot pressing sintering ofzlrconia toughened mullite materials,we can know the mechanism of the hot pres-sing sintering is plastic flow.According to plastic flow theory and heat transfertheory,a mathematical model for the hot pressing sintering has been established.The computer software has been programed by using FORTAN language.The simu-lation results are basically in agreement with the experimental data.By computersimulation,it can be shown that the hot pressing pressure,temperature and alsothe duration at firing temperature are most important factors.The temperature ris-ing rate and cooling rate,the initial density and the sample size all affect the de-nsification and the internal temperature field of the sample.
