Influence of Embedment in Powder Bed Sintering Technology on Superconductivity of YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-δ) Materials

The influence of powder embeded sintering technology on superconductivity ofYBa_2Cu_3O_(7-δ)materials has been studied.It has been found that superconductivityget worse when Y_2O_3-BaCO_3—CuO mixture,YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-δ)pre-heated powder,CuOpowder,BaCO_3—CuO mixture and BaF_2 are used as embeded powders.The super-conductivity disappeared when Y_2O_3 is used as embeded powder.The exception wasalso found that when BaCO_3 powder is used as embeded powder,the superconduc-tivity of YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-δ)is significantly improved.The influence of superconductivityof YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-δ)by powder embeded technology has been investigated by the aid ofXRD,SEM and EDS examination.It was considered that the improvement of su-perconductivity of samples with BaCO_3 powder embeded is contributed to the higherorthorhombic phase content,more homogeneous size and complete growth of grains,more homogeneous composition between grains and grain-boundaries in these sam-ples than in those sintered with other embeded powders or without embeded powder.
