The Implementation of Social and Emotional Learning in American Primary and Secondary Schools and Its Implications—Taking the "Positive Action" Course as a Case

In order to improve elementary and secondary students' social and emo-tional competencies,American educators have developed a series of"social and emotionallearning"courses."Positive Action"course is the main one of those courses. Design andimplementation of"Positive Action"course have strong pertinence,through participating inthis course,students have effectively reduced behavioral problems,enhanced academicachievements,developed the good personality,and improved the ability to adapt themselvesto the society. Chinese elementary and secondary schools should also pay attention to thecultivation of students' emotion,to start the professional teacher training project,develop-ment of emotional education courses.
