The New Trends of Science Literacy Assessment Framework in PISA 2015 and Its Implications to Chinese Science Education

In PISA 2015, some new trends are emerging in the assessment frameworkof science literary. The competencies required for science literacy lay stress on the impor-tance of designing scientific enquiry and of evaluating scientific enquiry based on the validi-ty criterion of scientific knowledge. The new concept of procedural knowledge and epis-temic knowledge are introduced to more accurately reflect the process and logic of knowl-edge production. Levels of cognitive demand is also a new feature in PISA 2015. These newdevelopments have important implications for the innovation of science education in China.
