A Study of the Relationship between College English Teachers' Job Stress and Their Job Burnout

Purpose: This paper makes a further study on the relationship between college English teachers' job stress and their job burnout, and the 59 research subjects in this paper are college English teachers from four universities in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Methods: This paper makes an empirical research on current college English teachers' job stress and their job burnout and the relationships between them by means of questionnaires and interviews. Results: College English teachers' job stress is relatively low and their job burnout is not serious. There is a relatively high positive correlation between job stress and burnout(r=0.598,p0.01). Working interest has positive prediction on job burnout. Conclusion: Reducing working load and enhancing working interest are good for alleviating college English teachers' job burnout.
